I thought emo was a character on Sesame Street (or modern music really blows)

I'm having a pretty good weekend.  Actually, it's been awhile since I've been this pumped up or excited about life.  Life is like a movie; a great soundtrack can really set the mood.  The world famous KROQ is having a "rocking the 90s weekend," meaning they're playing nothing but the hits from the end of the 20th century.  As if this isn't gold mine enough, the station finally has streaming audio from its website and the stream doesn't play commercials.  During the breaks, I get to hear rare, live, or acoustic versions of songs they wouldn't dare air on the radio.  I've been blasting it from any computer I'm near all weekend.

I don't wanna sound like a crotchety old-timer, but there simply hasn't been any good music made over the past five years.  It sounds like a cliche, but the music was better when I was growing up.  I know I can't be alone in believing modern music sucks.  Hell, even the current bands will tell you today's music is garbage.  I was watching some band perform on "Kimmel" this week and the lead singer wore earplugs.  What does that tell you?  You know a song is bad when the guy who wrote it doesn't wanna hear it.
