Ending women's suffrage and returning to the age of chivalry
    Tuesday, March 14, 2006

Saw a MySpace page today that I found noteworthy for a couple reasons. The chik claimed to be "a total feminist" and requested "Leave my past alone, its there for a reason." When describing her ideal date, she said "Well I like when the guys plan."

I don't know what drove me to write to her (I hate fem-Nazis) but I couldn't resist pointing out the hypocrisy of her post (either that or I just like a challenge). It took me about 30 seconds to write this, but thought it was funny.

So I take you don't have that "how many people have you been with before me" conversation with prospective beaus. I hear ya--it's not that I've got anything to hide. It's just that people shouldn't be judged by their pasts: it's better to learn from mistakes instead of dwelling on them. Either that or I'm just in denial. Anywhos, I just wanted to say hey. Oh, that and a "total feminist" wouldn't like it when the guy plans.

I don't know if she's one of those girls, but I hate "feminists" that claim they want to be treated equally, yet still want to be wined and dined. Chiks might like chivalrous guys, but there's not equal about chivalry. I think chivalry is degrading to men. Why should a man's coat be walked on? Why should he have to open doors for her? Why should he have to pay for dinner and send flowers? A chivalrous man is nothing more than male slavery. He abides by her every wish with no regard to his own being (imagine a really expensive coat).

I know this isn't exactly a fresh take in the matter, but women who claim they want to be "treated like a lady" don't really know what they're talking about. They want the pampering and ass-kissing of centuries ago but none of indebtness (I don't know if it's a word, but I'm making it one). These gals are forgetting everything else "treated like a lady" entails.

Think back to those "chivalrous" days. I know a lot about them because I watch a lot of TV. Those were the times when a woman was a man's property. Her only concerns in life were making sure her man was happy and making babies--the modern woman lives for these activities, doesn't she? Back in the chivalrous days, women weren't allowed to vote or enjoy sex. Their whole identity was based entirely on what kinda husband she had.

You know the phrase "rule of thumb," don'tcha? Know where it came from? Way back when, in the "chivalrous" age, a man was not allowed to beat his wife with any stick wider than his thumb. Isn't it great when chivalrous men abide by the rule of thumb?

I've gotten a little off track and probably don't sound nowhere near as intelligent as I thought I was when I started this iRANT. Look, I'm a nice person and wanna end women's suffrage as much as the next guy--I'm just saying you can't have your cake and eat it too. Chivalry comes at a price.
