I took a look at my taxes for this year and I'm gonna get a healthy return. I was thinking today that I should buy myself something nice with it...but what? I suppose I could buy myself another computer, but my gadget purchases are starting to feel excessive--kinda like a woman with shoes.
People get offended too easily. I recently discovered a website that debunks the theories suggested in "The Da Vinci Code." I found this site to particularly amusing because how passionately adamant the material was against Dan Brown's novel. The book is described as "wrong on every single point" and "a riot of laughable errors and serious misstatements." And while I believe in free speech and the right to criticize others, there's something that I feel has been forgotten...
It's just a fucking book!
I read "The Da Vinci Code" and I thought the book had its pros and its cons. But while reading it, I was fully aware that it was pure fiction based on some vague tidbits of fact--a lot of books are like that. I don't now why the church is freaking out--it's not like people were making dinosaurs after reading "Jurassic Park."
