Lethal, raw fish; death of an idol; and another nail in the coffin of childhood |
Tuesday, March 07, 2006 |
According to a story Reuters story, eating sushi may be bad for your health. The article also claimed, the FDA said sushi is "unsafe for anyone to eat."
Talk about your news shocker. Who woulda ever thought raw fish, swimming around in the toxic waters known as our oceans, would be bad for someone to ingest? I coulda told you something seemed unsafe about sushi when I first heard of the concept some 15 years ago.
In other news, baseball Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett died yesterday. This saddens me because Kirby was probably my most favorite player when I was an early teenager. I still remember watching him play. To know that he's gone, has me feeling awfully old. I have his first baseball card--it was strange enough to see him retire and get elected to the Hall of Fame, now that he's passed on, I feel like I've witnessed his in entire career and all moments of relevance. I guess it's sorta one of the things that goes with getting old...and watching another fond childhood memory become part of the past.
On the bright side, I should be able to get a ton of cash for that baseball card on eBay.
