I've got a bit of a morning tradition at work. After I turn on my computer and during its boot process, I pick up a copy of the newspaper that's kept by the secretary's desk.
"How are you doing today, 'Nerd," she asked.
"Little tired...and sluggish," I said. And then an epiphany hit me: "I say that every morning, don't I?"
"Yes, you do," she laughed. "You're tired every morning: you must have quite the night life."
I paused and thought how I usually spend my nights. Video games, internet, reading, television, writing, insomnia. "No, I don't--I should really start going to sleep earlier."
