Fucking Verizon fucked me again. I hate this fucking company and would love to get away from them but I can't. They're everywhere--it's like they're the fucking mafia.

My DSL bill went up $3 a month. While to some people, it might only be a lousy three bucks a month--$15 to $18. To me, it's the principle of it (and more than I make in an hour). Verizon jacked my bill up three bucks a month without fucking telling me--and that's the part that has me fucking pissed. No letters letting me know there was a price adjustment. They just went and upped my bill 20 per cent. I called Verizon to figure out why and they said it was because my contract was up. What sorta business practice is that? Just 'cause my contract is up they decide to raise my bill? Yeah, like that's gonna get me to stick around.

According to the operator, it's Verizon's policy to automatically change customers to month-to-month billing when their contract is up. Of course, monthly customers hafta pay more for their DSL. That's the perk of not having a contract.

"Fine--what do I hafta do to get back to my old rate plan of $15," I asked the operator.

Unfortunately, she couldn't offer me that rate 'cause it's "no longer available."

What sorta crap is this? Gawd, I hate this company--Verizon is the Evil Empire. People bash Microsoft all the time--Verizon is far worse. At least Microsoft has brought some good into the world (Minesweeper!).

I've boycotted Verizon about a million times in my life. Unfortunately, it's a company I just can't seem to avoid. I can't get cable in my neighborhood (some sorta weird engineering quirk) so if I want high-speed internet, I gotta use DSL. That's manageable, right? There's other DSL providers than Verizon, right? Not for me! Apparently Verizon owns the "territory rights" to my neighborhood--just like the fucking mafia. And since I can't have DSL without a phone, I gotta have Verizon phone service to get their DSL.

I hate these guys--I really do. Billing screw-up are not a rarity for Verizon. When I first signed up with this company a year ago, I wanted a $5 phone line with $15 DSL service. They signed me up for a $60 phone service (with free long-distance calling!) and $30 DSL plan. Imagine my horror when I'm expecting a $20 bill and get one close to a hundred.

When I had Verizon for my cell phone, the bill would be repeatedly charge me for something other than the plan I was on. Or they'd throw in extra charges. All in all, it was a total hassle. Every month I'd hafta get the on the phone (always at least a 20 minute wait) to straighten it out. You'd think it'd be real simple to stop it from happening again--but not with the fuck-ups at Verizon! It happened every month--I kid you not. Something like that isn't an accident--just like them jacking my bill up 20 per cent without warning.

I have a theory that Verizon does this on purpose. Let's face it: people are idiots. Folks rarely scrutinize their bill. A lot of people sign up for automatic bill pay (a no-no when it comes to Verizon). Most people aren't observant enough to notice a $3 price increase--or too busy to do anything about it. They count on that. I think this is all part of Verizon business plan. Make "mistakes" and correct them if people complain. Most won't...and profits will increase.

I hate this fucking company. If I could, I would write a computer virus that would kill everyone who worked there (that's what computer viruses do, right?). Sorry for the bad attitude--I'm just hella pissed.
